OLA is building Hypercharger, the world's largest charging network for electric scooters

Ola Electric, a subsidiary of  Ola, has entered the electric vehicles. Ola is building the world's largest electric two-wheeler plant in Tamil Nadu with an investment of  Rs. 2,400 crore. But that is not the end of the story.  Ola claims they will build the hyper charger network into the world's largest electric two-wheeler charging network, and over the next five years there will be more than one million such charging points in 400 cities across the country.

Ola's first electric scooter is likely to hit the market in June. The hyper charger network plan is a big step in that direction. Upcoming electric two-wheelers will be able to use this charging infrastructure. Five thousand charging points will be installed in 100 cities in the current financial year, the OLA said. Hundreds of charging points will be set up before the launch of Ola's first e-scooter.

Ola's upcoming e-scooter claims to be 50 percent charged in just 18 minutes using the company's charging network. Which is ideal for a riding range of around 75 km However, a standard home charger will be provided with each of Ola's e-scooters. Ola says the hyper charger network will take less than an hour to fully charge the battery.

Capacity of Ola hyper charger :-

The Ola Hyper charger will have a capacity of 12 kW and will come as a dedicated charging platform for Ola electric vehicles. Stand alone charger points installed in other places including shopping malls will be slower. However, Ola said, most of the installed chargers will be hyper chargers.

How to use Ola hyper charger network?

The Ola e-scooter rider needs to come to the hyper charger network point and connect the plug of the charging point to the scooter. How much the battery is charged or how much is left to be fully charged can be monitored through a dedicated mobile application from Ola Electric. After taking the service, you will have the facility to pay through that application again.

Where will the Ola hyper charger network be installed:-

The charging network infrastructure will be built by Ola and its partners at an estimated cost of  2 billion. It will come in two formats; There will be a vertical tower based charger, as well as a shopping mall, IT park And in public spaces like cafes it will be installed as a stand alone charger.
