Apple has overtaken Samsung to sell tablets in India

The popularity of tablets has decreased in the market due to the crowd of smartphones or laptops. But the demand for this device has increased significantly in the last few months after the corona virus caused an epidemic situation around the world. Even the trend of buying premium tablets in this country is so upward that Apple has pushed Samsung down from the second position in this segment in the Indian market. According to the report, Apple captured 29% market share in the first quarter of 2021.

According to CMR, Samsung ranked third in the Indian tablet market in the last quarter. On the other hand, from January to March, Apple iPad ranked second with 140% annualized (YoY) growth. At the same time, the iPad 9 device has a 17% share and the iPad Air 2020 has a 9% share. The company estimates that the growing demand for Apple's tablets is due to the current trend of working from home, consumer aspirations and increasing usability of the device in the ad-tech sector.

In that case, like other times, Lenovo topped the table sales in the first quarter of the year. The tablets of this Chinese brand have become popular with the public mainly due to the continued supply of low budget tablets in the market.

According to past reports, Lenovo sold the most tablets in the Indian market last year, in 2020, with a 39% share. At that time, Samsung was in second place with 30% market share, while Apple was in third place with only 17% market share.
